CALIFORNIA AVENUE AND KEYSTONE AVENUE INTERSECTION ENHANCEMENT

The road is open with no controls.  Signal work that remains will occur later this year and may require traffic control for a short period of time.

 

NORTH VALLEYS 3 INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

  • New traffic signal at the intersection of N Virginia Street and Lemmon Drive.
  • Construction is on hold until signal equipment arrives in November.

 

RENO CONSOLIDATED 19-01 – SUTRO STREET, LAKE STREET, FIRST STREET AND STATE STREET

Construction closures and detours will continue the week of October 27th. The project is expected to be complete by November.

Sutro/Commercial:

  • Construction work from Commercial Row to 4th Street is ongoing.
  • Two-way traffic will be provided at all times.

This project is part of a larger project called Reno Consolidated 19-01, which will reconstruct and rehabilitate select Reno roadways identified for improvement or maintenance.

 

RENO CONSOLIDATED 19-02 PROJECT – NORTH HILLS BOULEVARD FROM GOLDEN VALLEY ROAD TO BUCK DRIVE AND THE INTERSECTION OF HUNTER LAKE DRIVE AT FOSTER DRIVE

North Hills Boulevard:

  • Paving operations on Thursday 10/31 thru Saturday 11/02 (Temperature dependent) southbound lane closure between Round Table Pizza driveway and Buck Drive. Only northbound traffic allowed.
  • Paving will start at 8:30 am and will last until 8:00 pm (approximately) each day.
  • Lane closures on Golden Valley Road will be minimized as much as possible. The contractor will schedule operations to avoid working at the intersection as school is letting out in the afternoon.
  • Signal timing adjustments have been made to help minimize congestion.
  • Traffic Control will continue as it has been.
  • Between Golden Valley Road and Beckwourth Drive:
    • Two-way traffic remains in this segment and will be flagger controlled during construction hours.
    • Traffic is shifted using the center turn lane as a travel lane.
    • Please use caution and share the road with bicyclists.
  • Between Beckwourth Drive and Buck Drive:
    • Detours in place. Southbound lane closure. Only northbound traffic allowed.
    • Northbound traffic is flagger controlled during construction hours approximately 7 am to 5 pm, Monday thru Saturday.
    • Speed limit reduced to 25 MPH and traffic will be allowed on pulverized material (unpaved lane). Watch for construction equipment during construction hours.

Hunter Lake/Foster Drive:

  • Construction is substantially complete.
  • Traffic Control has been removed.

 

RENO CONSOLIDATED 19-03 PROJECT – SIERRA HIGHLANDS DRIVE, COLBERT DRIVE, HAMMILL LANE, RALSTON STREET, AND OHM PLACE

Ralston Street:

  • Between University Terrace and 11th Street – roadwork is substantially complete.  Watch for flaggers and traffic controls that may be used for punch list work.

Ohm Place:

  • Roadwork is substantially complete.  Watch for flaggers and traffic controls that may be used for punch list work.

Sierra Highlands:

  • Roadwork is substantially complete.  Watch for flaggers and traffic controls that may be used for punch list work.

Hammil Lane:

  • Construction is in progress and will continue thru the end of October.  Pavement removal will occur on Wednesday and Thursday.  Watch for flaggers and traffic controls that will be in place throughout construction.

Colbert Drive:

  • Construction is underway on Colbert Drive from Longley Lane to 500 feet north on Colbert Drive.  pavement removal will occur on Monday and Tuesday.  Watch for flaggers and traffic controls that will be in place throughout construction.

 

VIRGINIA STREET BUS RAPID TRANSIT EXTENSION

Roadway closures will be in place for construction of the roundabout at the intersections of Virginia Street and Center Street/Mary Street.  Businesses will always remain accessible.

Virginia Street:

  • Regency Wy to Center St – traffic is reduced to southbound direction only.
  • Northbound through traffic is detoured from Regency Wy to Holcomb Ave to Center St to Liberty St. Drivers can also use northbound Haskell St to Martin St to Virginia St.  Two-way traffic is available north of Center St.
  • Northbound traffic with final destination within the construction zone can utilize one of the many side streets from Holcomb Ave, Lake St, or Haskell St, which include:
    • Continental Dr, W Regency Wy, Walts Ln, Mt Rose St, Pueblo St, Arroyo St, Caliente St, Vassar St, Martin St, Taylor St, Cheney St, St Lawerance Ave, Moran St, and Stewart St.

Center Street and Mary Street:

  • ROAD CLOSURE: Work in this area will require closure of either Center St or Mary St at Virginia St.  During limited instances both streets may be closed at the same time.
  • Detours will be in place.
