CALIFORNIA AVENUE AND KEYSTONE AVENUE INTERSECTION ENHANCEMENT

The road is open with no controls.  Signal work that remains will occur later this year and may require traffic control for a short period of time.

 

NORTH VALLEYS 3 INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

  • New traffic signal at the intersection of N Virginia Street and Lemmon Drive.
  • Construction is on hold until signal equipment arrives in November.

 

RENO CONSOLIDATED 19-01 – SUTRO STREET, LAKE STREET, FIRST STREET AND STATE STREET

Construction closures and detours will continue the week of October 20th. The project is expected to be complete by November.

Sutro/Commercial:

  • Construction work from Commercial Row to 4th Street is ongoing.
  • Two-way traffic will be provided at all times.

This project is part of a larger project called Reno Consolidated 19-01, which will reconstruct and rehabilitate select Reno roadways identified for improvement or maintenance.

 

RENO CONSOLIDATED 19-02 PROJECT – NORTH HILLS BOULEVARD FROM GOLDEN VALLEY ROAD TO BUCK DRIVE AND THE INTERSECTION OF HUNTER LAKE DRIVE AT FOSTER DRIVE

North Hills Boulevard:

  • Paving operations (demolition and repave) began Thursday 10/10.
  • Lane closures on Golden Valley Road will be minimized as much as possible.  The contractor will schedule operations to avoid working at the intersection as school is letting out in the afternoon. Two-way traffic remains in this segment.
  • Signal timing adjustments have been made to help minimize congestion.
  • Between Golden Valley Road and Beckwourth Drive:
    • Two-way traffic remains in this segment.
    • Will be flagger controlled during construction hours.
    • Traffic is shifted using the center turn lane as a travel lane.
    • Please use caution and share the road with bicyclists.
  • Between Beckwourth Drive and Buck Drive:
    • DETOUR: Southbound lane closure, only northbound traffic allowed.
    • Northbound traffic is flagger controlled during construction hours approximately 7 am to 5 pm, Monday thru Saturday.
    • Speed limit reduced to 25 MPH and traffic will be allowed on pulverized material (unpaved lane).  Watch for construction equipment during construction hours.

Hunter Lake/Foster Drive:

    • Paving operations (demolition and repave) began Monday 10/7.
    • One lane closure at intersection.
    • Two-way traffic maintained at all times.

 

RENO CONSOLIDATED 19-03 PROJECT – SIERRA HIGHLANDS DRIVE, COLBERT DRIVE, HAMMILL LANE, RALSTON STREET, AND OHM PLACE

Ralston Street:

  • Between University Terrace and 11th Street – roadwork is substantially complete.  Watch for flaggers and traffic controls that may be used for minor utility work.

Ohm Place:

  • Roadwork is substantially complete.  Watch for flaggers and traffic controls that may be used for minor utility work.

Sierra Highlands:

  • Construction is on going and anticipated to continue thru the end of October.  Watch for flaggers and traffic controls that will be in place throughout construction on Sierra Highlands.

Hammil Lane:

  • Construction has begun  and will continue thru the end of October.  Watch for flaggers and traffic controls that will be in place throughout construction.

 

VIRGINIA STREET BUS RAPID TRANSIT EXTENSION

Roadway closures will be in place for construction of the roundabout at the intersections of Virginia Street and Center Street/Mary Street.  Businesses will always remain accessible.

Virginia Street:

  • Traffic is reduced to southbound direction only from Regency Way to Center Street.
  • Northbound through traffic will be detoured from Regency Way to Holcomb Avenue to Center Street to Liberty Street. Drivers can also use northbound Haskell Street to Martin Street to Virginia Street. Two-way traffic is available north of Center Street..
  • Side streets, including Tayler Street, Cheney Street, Moran Street, and Stewart Street, are also open for Midtown-business access.

Center Street and Mary Street:

  • ROAD CLOSURE: Work in this area requires either Center Street or Mary Street may be closed at Virginia Street. The Streets will never both be closed at the same time.
  • Detours will be in place.
