  • Northbound through traffic is detoured from Regency Wy to Holcomb Ave to Center St to Liberty St. Drivers can also use northbound Haskell St to Martin St to Virginia St. Two-way traffic is available north of Center St.
  • Northbound traffic with the final destination within the construction zone can utilize one of the many sidestreets from Holcomb Ave, Lake St, or Haskell St, which include:
    • Continental Dr, Regency Wy, Walts Ln, Mt Rose St, Pueblo St, Arroyo St, Caliente St, Vassar St, Martin St, Taylor St, Cheney St, St Lawerance Ave, Moran St, and Stewart St.

Center Street and Mary Street at Virginia Street:

  • ROAD CLOSURE: Work in this area will require closure of either Center St or Mary St at Virginia St. During limited instances both streets may be closed at the same time.

The contractor is finishing up roadway work on Sutro Street from Commercial Row to 4th Street.

  • Sutro Street will be open to traffic in both directions from E. Commercial Row to 4th Street. Lane shifts will be in place as the contractor stripes the roadway and raises uttilites.

This project is part of a larger project called Reno Consolidated 19-01, which will reconstruct and rehabilitate select Reno roadways identified for improvement or maintenance.

North Hills Boulevard: Monday 11/11 – replacement of loops along Golden Valley Road will take place. Lane closures on Golden Valley Road will be minimized as much as possible. The contractor will schedule operations to avoid working at the school in the afternoon.

Monday, Nov. 4 through Friday, Nov. 8:

  • Sutro Street will be closed to northbound traffic from E. Commercial Row to 4th Street. Southbound traffic will remain open. Northbound traffic will be detoured at E. Commercial Row to Sage Street to 4th Street.

Friday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. through Monday, Nov. 11 at 5 a.m.:

  • Sutro Street will be closed from Kuenzli Street to 4th Street. Access to the Waste Management Sage Transfer Station will be maintained by detouring from 4th Street to Sage Street to E. Commercial Row. Northbound traffic will be detoured on Kirman Avenue to Kuenzli Street to Wells Avenue. Southbound traffic will be detoured at 6th Street to Wells Avenue.

 

These closures are in place for safety and so that the RTC can remove the existing roadway and repave it.

This project is part of a larger project called Reno Consolidated 19-01, which will reconstruct and rehabilitate select Reno roadways identified for improvement or maintenance.

  • Paving operations on Thursday 10/31 thru Saturday 11/02 (Temperature dependent) southbound lane closure between Round Table Pizza driveway and Buck Drive. Only northbound traffic allowed.
  • Paving will start at 8:30 am and will last until 8:00 pm (approximately) each day.

 

  • Lane closures on Golden Valley Road will be minimized as much as possible. The contractor will schedule operations to avoid working at the intersection as school is letting out in the afternoon.
  • Signal timing adjustments have been made to help minimize congestion.
  • Traffic Control will continue as it has been.

 

  • Between Golden Valley Road and Beckwourth Drive:
    • Two-way traffic remains in this segment and will be flagger controlled during construction hours.
    • Traffic is shifted using the center turn lane as a travel lane.
    • Please use caution and share the road with bicyclists.
  • Between Beckwourth Drive and Buck Drive:
    • Detours in place. Southbound lane closure. Only northbound traffic allowed.
    • Northbound traffic is flagger controlled during construction hours approximately 7 am to 5 pm, Monday thru Saturday.
    • Speed limit reduced to 25 MPH and traffic will be allowed on pulverized material (unpaved lane). Watch for construction equipment during construction hours.

Hunter Lake/Foster Drive:

  • Construction is substantially complete.
  • Traffic Control has been removed.

  • Paving operations on Thursday 10/31 thru Saturday 11/02 (Temperature dependent) southbound lane closure between Round Table Pizza driveway and Buck Drive. Only northbound traffic allowed.
  • Paving will start at 8:30 am and will last until 8:00 pm (approximately) each day.
  • Lane closures on Golden Valley Road will be minimized as much as possible. The contractor will schedule operations to avoid working at the intersection as school is letting out in the afternoon.
  • Signal timing adjustments have been made to help minimize congestion.
  • Traffic Control will continue as it has been.
  • Between Golden Valley Road and Beckwourth Drive:
    • Two-way traffic remains in this segment and will be flagger controlled during construction hours.

Virginia Street:

  • Northbound through traffic is detoured from Regency Wy to Holcomb Ave to Center St to Liberty St. Drivers can also use northbound Haskell St to Martin St to Virginia St.  Two-way traffic is available north of Center St.
  • Northbound traffic with final destination within the construction zone can utilize one of the many side streets from Holcomb Ave, Lake St, or Haskell St, which include:
    • Continental Dr, W Regency Wy, Walts Ln, Mt Rose St, Pueblo St, Arroyo St, Caliente St, Vassar St, Martin St, Taylor St, Cheney St, St Lawerance Ave, Moran St, and Stewart St.

Center Street and Mary Street:

  • ROAD CLOSURE: Work in this area will require closure of either Center St or Mary St at Virginia St.  During limited instances both streets may be closed at the same time.

NORTH VALLEYS 3 INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

  • New traffic signal at the intersection of N Virginia and Lemmon Drive.
  • Construction is on hold until signal equipment arrives mid-November.

 

RENO CONSOLIDATED 19-01 – SUTRO STREET, LAKE STREET, FIRST STREET AND STATE STREET

Construction closures and detours for the project will continue the week of September 16. The project is expected to be complete by September 30.
Lake Street will be closed to through traffic from the Truckee River bridge to Second Street. Northbound traffic will be detoured at Mill Street to Wells Avenue to Kuenzli Street and at Liberty Street to Center Street. Southbound traffic will be detoured at Second Street to Virginia Street to Liberty Street to Sinclair Street. Businesses within the closure will be provided southbound access at 2nd Street to westbound 1st Street.
1st Street will be closed to through traffic from Center Street to Lake Street. Businesses within the closure will be provided southbound access at 2nd Street to westbound at 1st Street. Drivers will be able to access the Cal Neva parking garage using Second Street to Lover’s Lane Alley.
All detours will be marked.
This project is part of a larger project called Reno Consolidated 19-01, which will reconstruct and rehabilitate select Reno roadways identified for improvement or maintenance.

  • Between University Terrace and 11th St:
    • Construction is in progress through October 3, with concrete removal and replacement of sidewalk, curb/gutters, and roadway reconstruction. Traffic controls are in place along Ralston St.
  • Parking is prohibited within the Ralston St construction zones 7 am – 7 pm, Monday through Friday 8/5 thru 10/1.
  • During construction, access for trash pickup is provided on Tuesdays – place Green Waste cans out for pickup. For street parking use nearby side streets; please adhere to the “no parking” restrictions.

Ohm Place:

  • Construction is in progress.
  • Full closure of Ohm Place is in effect through the beginning of October. Traffic controls will be in place with business detours for NV Energy offices.

CALIFORNIA AVENUE AND KEYSTONE AVENUE INTERSECTION ENHANCEMENT

The project is now substantially complete. Minor utility work is scheduled for the morning of Saturday September 7th. The road will remain open however the contractor may require a lane closure for a short period of time.

 

 

NORTH VALLEYS 3 INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

New traffic signal at the intersection of N. Virginia and Lemmon Drive

Construction on hold until signal equipment arrives mid-November.

 

 

RENO CONSOLIDATED 19-01 – SUTRO STREET, LAKE STREET, FIRST STREET AND STATE STREET

Construction closures and detours for the project will continue Monday, September 9th. The project is expected to be complete by September 30.

Lake Street will be closed to through traffic from the Truckee River bridge to Second Street. Northbound traffic will be detoured at Mill Street to Wells Avenue to Kuenzli Street and at Liberty Street to Center Street. Southbound traffic will be detoured at Second Street to Virginia Street to Liberty Street to Sinclair Street. Businesses within the closure will be provided southbound access at 2nd Street to westbound 1st Street.

1st Street will be closed to through traffic from Center Street to Lake Street. Businesses within the closure will be provided southbound access at 2nd Street to westbound at 1st Street. Drivers will be able to access the Cal Neva parking garage using Second Street to Lover’s Lane Alley.

All detours will be marked.

This project is part of a larger project called Reno Consolidated 19-01, which will reconstruct and rehabilitate select Reno roadways identified for improvement or maintenance.

RENO CONSOLIDATED 19-02 PROJECT – NORTH HILLS BOULEVARD FROM GOLDEN VALLEY ROAD TO BUCK DRIVE AND THE INTERSECTION OF HUNTER LAKE DRIVE AT FOSTER DRIVE

North Hills Blvd:

  • Demolition, sidewalk and drainage work with one lane closure.
  • Two-way traffic maintained at all times.
  • Please share the road to bicyclists.
  • One lane-two way traffic with flaggers between Buck Dr. and Beckwourth Dr.
  • Between Beckwourth Dr. and Golden Valley Rd. traffic is shifted using the center turn lane as a travel lane.
  • Access to the mail drop boxes may be closed for pipe work across the driveways.

Hunter Lake/Foster Dr:

  • Construction to start on Monday September 9th.

 

 

RENO CONSOLIDATED 19-03 PROJECT – SIERRA HIGHLANDS DRIVE, COLBERT DRIVE, HAMMILL LANE, RALSTON STREET, AND OHM PLACE

Ralston Street between University Terrace and 11th Street; Starting August 5th at 7:00 am thru October 3rd construction will be in progress with concrete removal and replacement for sidewalk and curb/gutters; roadway reconstruction. Traffic controls in place along Ralston Street.

For the safety of you and your vehicle, parking on the street will be prohibited within the Ralston Street construction zones from 7am-7pm, Monday through Friday from August 5th to the first of October. During construction, we will also provide access for trash pickup on Tuesdays – please place your Green Waste cans out on Tuesday for pickup. For additional street parking, a nearby side street must be used; please adhere to the “no parking” restrictions.

Ohm Place construction is schedule to begin Monday, 09/09, with partial cloure. Beginning the week of 09/16 full closure of Ohm Place will be in effect through the beginning of October.

 

 

SPARKS CONSOLIDATED 19-01 – 15TH STREET, FRANKLIN WAY, HULDA COURT, AND EL RANCHO DRIVE

Starting September 9, 2019, at 7:00 a.m. through Saturday September 14, 2019:

Drivers can expect the following road and lane closures. All detours will be marked.

15th Street closed Victorian Avenue to Prater Way:

  • Street will be closed to through traffic from Victorian Avenue to Prater Way during roadway removal and paving. Northbound traffic will be detoured at C Street to 16th Street to Prater Way, or at Victorian Avenue to Pyramid Way to Prater Way. Southbound traffic will be detoured at Prater Way to 16th Street to C Street or to Pyramid Way to Victorian Avenue. Businesses and residences within the closure will be provided southbound access from Prater Way and Northbound access from Victorian Avenue.
  • Saturday, September 14: Closed to all traffic from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. for final paving operations.
