The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County plans to close westbound traffic on Liberty Street through the Virginia Street intersection for construction work as part of the Virginia Street Project. On Tuesday, July 21, and Wednesday, July 22, westbound traffic on Liberty Street will be detoured northbound on Center Street and westbound on State Street. Eastbound traffic will continue through the Liberty Street/Virginia Street intersection.
Construction crews will be completing milling and paving operations. Drivers can anticipate minor lane closures through the Liberty Street/Virginia Street intersection through Friday, July 25 as crews continue with concrete work as part of the project.
Virginia Street remains open to one-way, southbound-only traffic in Midtown between Liberty Street and Center Street/Mary Street.
The Midtown segment of the Virginia Street Project is anticipated to wrap up in August. The Virginia Street Project is set to be complete near the University of Nevada, Reno, this fall.
