The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is planning upcoming lane and road closures on Sutro Street as they reconstruct the roadway. Detours will be in place.
- Monday, Nov. 4 through Friday, Nov. 8:
- Sutro Street will be closed to northbound traffic from E. Commercial Row to 4th Southbound traffic will remain open. Northbound traffic will be detoured at E. Commercial Row to Sage Street to 4th Street.
- Friday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. through Monday, Nov. 11 at 5 a.m.:
- Sutro Street will be closed from Kuenzli Street to 4th Access to the Waste Management Sage Transfer Station will be maintained by detouring from 4th Street to Sage Street to E. Commercial Row. Northbound traffic will be detoured on Kirman Avenue to Kuenzli Street to Wells Avenue. Southbound traffic will be detoured at 6th Street to Wells Avenue.
These closures are in place for safety and so that the RTC can remove the existing roadway and repave it.
Construction work on this project is part of the RTC’s Reno Consolidated 19-01 Project to reconstruct and rehabilitate sections of Reno roadways, including Sutro Street from the Truckee River Bridge to 4th Street, Sutro Street from McCarran Boulevard to the northern edge, 1st Street from Center Street to Lake Street, the Lake Street bridge, and State Street from Virginia Street to Sinclair Street. Reno Consolidated 19-01 represents a $4.2 million investment in our community.
