The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County invites the community to a public meeting and open house as RTC staff updates the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan. The community meeting will be on Thursday, October 24 at the Innevation Center from 5-7 p.m., with a presentation at 5:30 p.m.
The meeting location is served by RTC transit routes 1, 19 and RAPID Virginia Line. For those who can’t attend in person, the RTC also plans to livestream the meeting on its Facebook page.
As part of the update process, the RTC is seeking additional input from the community. The RTC received community feedback and has now incorporated that information and data into a draft ADA Transition Plan. Now, the RTC is seeking feedback on the draft of the Transition Plan.
The Transition Plan includes an ADA-compliance review of RTC programs, services, and activities, employment practices, emergency management plan, buildings and associated parking, and prioritized fixed-route transit stop locations.
People who are interested, including individuals with disabilities or organizations that serve individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend this community meeting and provide feedback to the RTC regarding the ADA draft plan.
The Innevation Center is served by RTC RAPID Virginia Line, Route 1 and Route 19, and is accessible to individuals with disabilities. Requests for auxiliary aids to assist individuals with disabilities should be made with as much advance notice as possible. For those requiring hearing or speech assistance, contact Relay Nevada at 1(800)326-6868 (TTY, VCO or HCO).
