The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is planning to activate a newly installed traffic signal at the intersection of Veterans Parkway and Long Meadow Drive in Reno on Thursday, January 13.

“I’m excited to flip the switch on a new traffic signal that will help families, and especially children, feel safer crossing the street to get to and from Cyan Park,” said Reno City Councilmember and RTC Commissioner Oscar Delgado. “This new signal will alleviate traffic concerns and improve safety and mobility in this growing area of our community.”

Drivers are encouraged to use extra caution in and around the newly signalized intersection as people get used to the new traffic signal.

This intersection has seen an increase in traffic and was determined to warrant a traffic signal to help improve safety.

This project is being done as part of the RTC’s Traffic Engineering Spot Improvement Program and represents a $400,000 investment in our community.
