The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is seeking community input about roadway improvements to Plumb Lane. The community is invited to a presentation about the project by the RTC at a City of Reno Neighborhood Advisory Board Meeting on Thursday, September 6 at 5:30 p.m. at the McKinley Arts and Culture Center at 925 Riverside Drive in Reno.
The improvements, which are planned for this fall, are designed to make the roadway safer for all users by slowing travel speeds to be more compliant with posted speed limits. There will be minimal disruption to the neighborhood and the project is expected to take less than a week to complete.
The project will involve the restriping of West Plumb Lane from Arlington Avenue to Ferris Lane to decrease the travel-lane number from four lanes to two lanes with a center turn lane. The RTC will also add bike lane striping to both directions of travel.
This treatment has been accomplished on portions of Mayberry Drive and Arlington Avenue, resulting in safer conditions for all street users, including pedestrians.
Anyone who would like to provide input is asked to come to the Neighborhood Advisory Board Meeting, or email RTC Project Manager Scott Gibson at email@example.com.
