RTC has implemented alternative transportation plans to assist our riders during this current service disruption, we apologize for the inconvenience. One of the alternate plans is utilizing RTC’s FlexRIDE service. However, this service is limited on vehicles and staff to operate the vehicles. Therefore, the RTC must limit access to this service to essential trips only (e.g. medical, dental, vision, job/employment related trips – Lifeline trips).
Additionally, Uber vouchers are available to riders who need emergency (are stranded) transportation. The Vouchers will be available through August 31st. For information and to request a voucher call the RTC Mobility Center at (775) 348-0477 option 2.
- The RTC Washoe-Uber Emergency Rides voucher is valid for 2 Uber rides with a maximum of $20 per Uber ride. Any amount over $20 will be automatically charged to the user’s debit or credit card on file on their Uber account.
- Uber Vouchers will expire on August 31, 2021.
- Eligible rides can be taken 24/7.
- Vehicle type will apply only to UberX trips.
- Service area: Eligible trips must start and end in the Reno-Sparks area. Trips that begin or end outside of the service area are not eligible.
Again, we apologize for the inconvenience this disruption of service has caused.
During this time, rides on routes that will be operating including the FlexRIDE service will be free (no charge) to customers during the strike. Transit customers with current transit passes will be given extensions. Details of this process will be announced in the coming days at rtcwashoe.com and RTC Customer Service.
Please note: Due to a labor strike, only the following routes will be in service (at reduced frequency): ROUTE 1, ROUTE 11, and the RTC REGIONAL CONNECTOR. All other routes will not be in service at this time. Go to www.rtcwashoe.com/alerts for updates.
