The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is beginning a project to reconstruct a two-block section of State Street in Downtown Reno from Virginia Street to Sinclair Street. Construction will begin Monday, August 12 and be completed by late-September.
The project includes pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction, new sidewalks, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements.
State Street will be closed to through traffic during construction. Eastbound-only access will remain in place for businesses and residences within the closure. Drivers can enter from Virginia Street and Center Street. Westbound traffic will be detoured at Lake Street to Liberty Street to Virginia Street. Flaggers will direct traffic and help pedestrians safely navigate the construction zone.
For the safety of people and vehicles, parking will be prohibited within the construction zone from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday – Friday.
This project is part of a larger project called Reno Consolidated 19-01, which will reconstruct and rehabilitate select Reno roadways.
