The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County will begin rehabilitation and reconstruction work on three regional Reno roadways on March 22, 2021 including:

  • Lund Lane from Wedekind Road to Northetowne Lane
  • Armstrong Lane from Susileen Drive to Yuma Lane
  • Yuma Lane from Armstrong Lane to Hunter Lake Drive

Work on the project will begin with a full roadway closure of Lund Lane from March 22 through April 9. Work on Armstrong Lane and Yuma Lane will begin on April 12, after construction on Lund Lane is complete. During construction on Armstrong Lane and Yuma Lane, through traffic will be detoured. Flaggers will direct local traffic within this area.

Construction work may include removal and replacement of the roadway structural section, sidewalk, and curb and gutter replacement as necessary.

The project will also include the correction of localized drainage deficiencies, reconstruction of existing curb ramps, reconstruction of driveways, and other incidentals necessary for the rehabilitation and/or reconstruction of the street segments within the project limits.

The RTC keeps an inventory of the condition of our regional roadways to ensure they are maintained in good condition. Armstrong Lane, Yuma Lane, and Lund Lane were noted as pavement preservation candidates last year. These streets are beginning to deteriorate and it is time to repair them.

This project represents an approximate $2.4 million investment in our community funded with fuel tax revenue. Construction is anticipated to be complete by late June 2021, weather permitting.
