The RTC is being recognized as among the best US-based organizations for commuters. The RTC is one of three organizations statewide, and among 231 nationally, to be designated a “2017 Best Workplace for Commuters,” a program managed by the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) with support from the National Center for Transit Research (NCTR) and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
To be designated among the nation’s Best Workplaces for Commuters, the RTC met the National Standard of Excellence in offering its employees exceptional commuter benefits including telework and compressed work schedules.
“This is a testament to the RTC’s commitment to transportation choices, reducing emissions and incentivizing healthy behaviors, creating a healthy and productive workplace that encourages, supports and promotes environmental stewardship,” RTC Executive Director Lee Gibson said.
The RTC provides secure bike facilities at its buildings, including a “bike box” at RTC CENTENNIAL PLAZA. Additionally, the RTC has held several programs for employees to encourage walking, bicycling and exercise. RTC employees also receive an incentive to use mass transit. Carpool and vanpool programs are available to employees and the public, with information at: http://www.rtcvanpool.com.
