The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County’s Finance Department recently received the Government Finance Officers Association Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2020. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and its management. The RTC has received this certificate every year since 1986.
“I am proud of the RTC’s continued excellence in financial management and providing open and transparent information to the public,” said RTC Executive Director Bill Thomas.
Attaining the certificate represents a significant accomplishment by a government in its management. The RTC’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive spirit of full disclosure to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
