The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is continuing construction on the Sparks Consolidated 1901 Project, which includes roadwork to improve portions of El Rancho Drive, 15th Street, Franklin Way and Hulda Court. The project will reconstruct and rehabilitate sections of roadways in Sparks, improving pavement conditions and adding new sidewalks and pedestrian safety enhancements.
Drivers can expect the following road and lane closures starting Monday, July 22 through early August:
– 15th Street: Closed to through traffic from Victorian Avenue to C Street. Businesses and residential traffic within the closed area will be provided access from Victorian Avenue or the alley on 16th Street.
– C Street: Open to eastbound traffic only from 16th Street to 15th Street. Traffic will be detoured at 15th Street to Victorian Avenue to 16th Street.
– Franklin Way: Open to one direction of traffic at a time from East Greg Street to Spice Islands Drive. During construction on the east side of the roadway, northbound traffic will be detoured at Spice Islands Drive to Purina Way to East Greg Street. During construction on the west side of the roadway, southbound traffic will be detoured at Greg Street to Purina Way to Spice Islands Drive.
– El Rancho Drive: Open to traffic in both directions. Traffic lanes will be moved to the west half of the roadway as crews complete concrete improvements on the east side.
As work progresses, additional closures and detours may be necessary to safely complete work on the projects.
Construction will take approximately three months to complete.
