The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is working with the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) to permanently close one of the three lanes on Matley Lane, between Villanova Drive and Plumb Lane for safety after two recent car crashes into the RTC’s facility.
The southbound lane closest to RTC’s Jerry L. Hall Regional Transit & Operations Maintenance Facility on Matley Lane will close for safety, starting on Wednesday, November 21. Drivers exiting I-580 southbound using the Villanova Drive/Plumb Lane exit can expect a new traffic pattern. The intersections along this corridor will not be affected by the lane closure.
On Saturday, November 10, two separate car crashes occurred on Matley Lane, causing cars to enter RTC’s maintenance facility. No RTC staff or passengers were injured as a result of the crashes, but the RTC is taking action to improve safety and prevent potential future crashes from impacting RTC employees and the maintenance facility.
