The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is continuing a project to reconstruct the pavement and sidewalks on sections of 1st Street and Lake Street in Downtown Reno. Construction closures and detours for the project will begin Tuesday, September 3. The project is expected to be complete by September 30.
Lake Street will be closed to through traffic from the Truckee River bridge to Second Street. Northbound traffic will be detoured at Mill Street to Wells Avenue to Kuenzli Street and at Liberty Street to Center Street. Southbound traffic will be detoured at Second Street to Virginia Street to Liberty Street to Sinclair Street. Businesses within the closure will be provided southbound access at 2nd Street to westbound 1st Street.
1st Street will be closed to through traffic from Center Street to Lake Street. Businesses within the closure will be provided southbound access at 2nd Street to westbound at 1st Street. Drivers will be able to access the Cal Neva parking garage using Second Street to Lover’s Lane Alley.
All detours will be marked.
This project is part of a larger project called Reno Consolidated 19-01, which will reconstruct and rehabilitate select Reno roadways identified for improvement or maintenance.
