Regional Planning

Regional Transportation Plan (RTP)

The Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) defines the long-range planning policies and priorities for the community’s future transportation system. It is the region’s blueprint to maintaining access, mobility and clean air for our community.

Public Participation Plan

The Public Participation Plan articulates the RTC’s commitment to an open and transparent interface with the public and with relevant public agencies to support the regional transportation planning process.

Complete Streets Master Plan

The purpose of the Complete Streets Master Plan is to identify the RTC’s long range strategy for Complete Street treatments in the Reno‑Sparks metropolitan area.

Virginia Street RAPID Extension

The RTC invited the community to provide comments and ideas on the future of Virginia Street as part of the Virginia Street Bus RAPID Transit Extension Project. Two meetings were held for the public to review preliminary designs for Virginia Street. The designs featured proposed improvements for Virginia Street from Maple Street to 15th Street near the University of Nevada, Reno and from Liberty Street to Plumb Lane in Midtown.

Bicycle & Pedestrian Master Plan

The purpose of the Reno Sparks Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan is to make the region as bicycle and pedestrian friendly as possible in order to encourage people of all ages, abilities, and means to walk and/or bicycle.

The Regional Transportation Improvement Program (RTIP) is the RTC’s five-year program of projects designed to implement short-term street and highway, transit, bicycle and pedestrian projects for Washoe County.
