RTC-5 Quarterly Updates to the Community

The RTC Board and staff will build on the agency's foundation and its ongoing commitment for communication, responsibility and accountability to the citizens of Washoe County by providing information about the benefits of RTC-5 and the economic stimulus SB 201 will bring. In 2009, RTC-5 funding helped create hundreds of jobs through road construction and improvement projects in Washoe County while investing $41 million in our community.  This includes 28 road projects and the Preventive Maintenance program for patch and slurry seal of streets and highways in Reno, Sparks and Washoe County.
 
UPDATE April  2010: This year, RTC will help create even more jobs while investing $90 million in the largest road project program in RTC’s history. Two major road projects will be built in partnership with NDOT: the Meadowood Interchange and the Northbound US 395 Project (Plumb to Spaghetti Bowl). RTC-5 investments in these projects total $24.1 million.
 
The estimated RTC-5 investment in roads to date totals $130 million.
